The Piano Technicians Guild (PTG) is an international organization of piano technicians.
An RPT (Registered Piano Technician) has passed a series of rigorous examinations on the maintenance, repair, and tuning of pianos administered by the Piano Technicians Guild. Only RPTs are authorized by The Piano Technicians Guild to display the logo containing the words "Registered Piano Technician".
A regular Member has not passed the RPT examinations. They may be studying Piano Technology and working toward RPT status, or may be piano retailers, rebuilders, refinishers, other specialists, or Piano Technicians that have simply not taken the exams.
